Marketing is about more than just words, and it's often vital that the nuance of your brand's message is communicated precisely. It's also important to understand your audience, and having lived and worked in both Japan and England, as well as experience translating for some of the world's biggest and most recognisable companies, it's something I can offer to you...
I have been self employed as a freelancer / translation consultant since completing my MA and have translated material for for many of the world's largest and most recognisable brands.
I also provide translation services on a permanent basis to a leading Japanese coffee brand, which involves writing and translating their blogs, articles and other marketing material.
Understanding the differences in marketing to the Japanese market, or the various English speaking markets, is very important and I always take care to ensure that any translations go beyond just a simple literal translation - unless the translation requires otherwise.
If you are interested in working together, do not hesitate to email me at aya@ayatranslates.com
My rates depend on the nature of each project, however they are typically in the ballpark of about: 10 yen/word for English to Japanese and 20 yen/character for Japanese to English.
