Hi, I'm Aya.
I am a professional translator and if you need something translating from English to Japanese, or Japanese to English, you have come to the right place.
There are many translators out there (not all of them human!) but if it is important to you that your translation is more than just the literal meaning of the words, then I would love to work with you even more.
I always take care to understand the subtext and nuance of the original text as I believe that a translator should have the same passion and dedication to their writing as the original author did.
I studied an MA in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia, one of the most respected literary Universities in the world, because I wanted to help share the most wonderful stories between Japanese and English speakers.
If you have a story you want translated then I would love to work with you!
Learn moreMarketing is about more than just words, and it's often vital that the nuance of your brand's message is communicated precisely. It's also important to understand your audience, and having lived and worked in both Japan and England, as well as experience translating for some of the world's biggest and most recognisable companies, it's something I can offer to you...
Learn moreI offer many other services outside of my core translation business. If you need help/advice dealing with Japanese/English speaking clients, or developing marketing material for those markets, then I am able to help out.
I also offer multi lingual website design, working with an International web designer, on a custom built Content Management System specifically for small businesses who wish to market to different languages, but without the need for a full international marketing team.
Learn moreIf you are interested in working together, do not hesitate to email me at aya@ayatranslates.com
My rates depend on the nature of each project, however they are typically in the ballpark of about: 10 yen/word for English to Japanese and 20 yen/character for Japanese to English.
